With the Coronavirus pandemic in our world today, the businesses are shutting down, including restaurants, hotels, airlines, bars, gyms, and some are even losing their current jobs or receiving reduced salaries with lesser work. Now is the time to entertain that idea of building an online business while social distancing.

But we don’t need to panic as these could also be when we need to reinvent ourselves and find out what we can do better to survive. There could be opportunities now, which we may not have thought of earlier. Having an online business that does not require being face to face with people can surely stand the test of any such global outbreaks. Let’s take a look at these insights on building an online business fast while social distancing.
Research
Use the internet to research about the areas where you can provide help in line with your strength areas. Look for demographics and industries which need your service. E.g., there could be people who need your support to provide supplies to them, maybe other businesses that wish to sell their products fast. So, in short, assisting businesses increase their orders, retaining current customers. You can look for professionals or students who wish to learn something and are not able to reach their schools or institutions due to social distancing.
Innovation
Another easy way to create an online business fast with social distancing is by innovating your current business process. E.g., find out ways how you can make your existing restaurant business or grocery store offering the facility of ordering online to your customers. Do a bit of market research and find out if there are enough customers interested in your new online business idea. You can also use Facebook ads or Google Trends to learn by your location, category, and period if there are enough people interested in your new business.
Validate the Business Idea
The best way to start validating the proposed online business opportunity is to do a sample check. See if you can ramp up your business or create a new store on a small scale and find the level of profits that can be achieved. If this idea works, then go live with the rest of the world. If your validated idea is excellent, you can expand your operations further by, say even, helping other restaurants or grocery stores to develop and work as their consultant as well.
Finally, remember that such global crises always bring out the best in all of us, make us stronger, help us appreciate the basics of life, see the best in others, and stand united.
Good luck! Stay safe, don’t touch your face—and please keep being maniacal about your hygiene out there.
